BEHIND THE RESEARCH OF BENJAMIN P. SKORONSKI

 Born in Rochester, New York, Benjamin P. Skoronski started to pursue music from a very young age. He is a recipient of numerous academic awards and honors, including the Presser Scholar Award (Kutztown University, 2018–2019), the Medici Scholar Award (University of Arizona, 2020), and the Fred Fox School of Music Distinguished Graduate Student Award (University of Arizona, 2021–22). In his early career Skoronski also held an internship as an assistant conductor for the Reading Philharmonic Orchestra. As a graduate student Skoronski has engaged in regular conference activity, ranging from regional (various AMS chapter meetings) to national (SAM 2022) to international (IMS 2022). Currently preparing his first peer-reviewed article for publication, Skoronski also teaches his own music appreciation curriculum at the University of Arizona and serves as a program annotator to the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Starting August 2022 he will be pursuing his Ph.D. in Musicology at Cornell University, after which he looks forward to continuing his career in education and scholarship.
